The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures is southwest of the University of Minnesota Kansas City campus. This museum has been around since 1982, and it has since expanded. In 2014, the museum undertook major renovations, and the collection features over 86,000 toys and miniatures. Artifacts on display include miniatures such as bedrooms, homes, paintings, and musical instruments. There are also toys from around the world, including porcelain dolls, dollhouses, children's sewing machines, teddy bears, and more.
General admission rates are $8 for adults (ages18-64), $7 for seniors (65+), $5 for school-aged children and college students with ID, and free for children ages 0 to 5. Regular hours are Wednesday through Monday from 10 am to 4 pm. It is closed on the following holidays: MLK Jr. Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Eve through New Year's Day.
