Enjoy spending time at one of Kansas City's most beautiful and beloved parks.
Loose Park is located south of Brush Creek bordering the Missouri and Kansas state lines. It features a playground, lake, rose garden, pickleball courts, paved walking paths, and large open grassy areas perfect for playing frisbee or catch. They also have a reservable picnic shelter that can accommodate over 100 people, making it ideal for large gatherings such as family reunions. This park was also a significant site for the Battle of Westport during the American Civil War, and it has been largely underdeveloped to maintain its natural beauty.
Stop and smell the roses at the 1.5-acre garden featuring 130 varieties of roses. With over 70-acres of green space, you could easily spend hours wandering the park and feeding ducks at Lake Drummond. This city park is open daily from 5 am to midnight. Please note that the parking lot gate closes at 10 pm. If you love spending time at city parks, be sure to stop by Loose Park in Kansas City.
