Visit one of the best aquariums in Hawaii.
The Maui Ocean Center gives guests a close-up look at local marine wildlife, featuring living coral reefs, a turtle lagoon, and sharks. This awesome aquarium is located in western Maui and is open from 9 am to 5 pm. It is busiest in the mornings, so consider coming in the afternoon if you want to avoid large crowds. Their exhibits include tropical fish, a coral reef, the sea turtle lagoon, and a 35-foot tunnel where you can watch sharks swimming overhead. There is also a humpback whale exhibit where you can discover a 3D deep ocean sphere to gain a sense of a whale's environment.
Most people explore the aquarium for about two hours. They have scheduled feedings and presentations throughout the day; check out their website for more information. Expect to see green sea turtles, octopuses, seahorses, reef sharks, manta rays, moray eels, and more. Don't miss out on this family-friendly attraction if you're visiting Maui.
