Enjoy spending time on Lake Sequoyah in northwestern Arkansas.
Lake Sequoyah Park is located in northwestern Arkansas and it is a popular park for locals in Fayetteville. This lake used to be a water supply reservoir prior to the 1960s, but now it is a recreational lake where visitors can enjoy boating and fishing. Other activities you can do here include hiking, picnicking, and wildlife observation. There are several types of birds living here, including kingfishers, great blue herons, bald eagles, and more.
Please note that fishing and boating permits are required for Lake Sequoyah. You can either fish from the bank, or from a boat, but you can't wade in the water or use a belly boat while fishing here. This state park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, except on Thanksgiving Day, and annually from December 23 through mid-January. If you're traveling through northern Arkansas, add Lake Sequoyah Park to your list of places to visit.
