It was constructed in the 1860s and features Italianate-style architecture designed by a Philadelphian named John Stewart. Senator Robert Jemison Jr. and his family were the first residents of this immaculate home, and he hosted countless upscale parties here. The senator spared no expense in this state-of-the-art home complete with running water, indoor lighting, a gas stove, plus a dumb waiter that reached the kitchen in the basement up to the pantry.
