Relax on the Perdido Key at this coastal Florida State Park.
Big Lagoon State Park offers a variety of outdoor recreation such as boating, fishing, hiking, birding, swimming, and camping. Swimming is permitted at both the west and east beaches. There are also many picnic tables, restrooms, and showers available on a first-come, first-served basis. The best seasons to visit are spring and fall, when migratory birds typically fly through the area. Head to the three-story observation tower by the east beach to get a neat view for some bird watching.
This state park is open daily from 8 am to sunset. A $6 fee is required for all vehicles. Camping reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance or before 1 pm for same-day reservations. Enjoy the breathtaking night sky while camping in the park. They also host stargazing events throughout the year so check their website for current information. If you need a place to get away from it all, consider staying at Florida's Big Lagoon State Park.
