Walk to the top of this historic lighthouse in Pensacola.
Pensacola Lighthouse is in southern Pensacola near the border of Alabama and Florida. It was built in 1859 and offers one of the best views of the Gulf Coast. The lightkeeper's quarters were built in the late 1860s and is now a museum depicting the history of the Pensacola Lighthouse. A new feature of the museum is the reading room where guests can take a seat and read through some of the books and magazines on display.
The lighthouse and museum are open Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm, and Friday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. You must arrive at least 20 minutes before closing time to be admitted. Since the lighthouse is on a naval air station, civilians must book a tour in advance. Please note that small children cannot be carried up the tower. Children must be at least 44 inches tall to climb to the top of the lighthouse. If you enjoy touring historic lighthouses, don't miss out on the chance to see the Pensacola Lighthouse in Florida.
