See hundreds of thousands of artwork at this renowned art museum
The Art Institute of Chicago was founded in 1879 and has almost 300,00 works of art dating back to 5,000 BC. This is consistently ranked as a top museum, and it is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the world. The Art Institute is located in downtown Chicago, and over 1.5 million people visit the museum annually. Each exhibit is divided by the region or country where the art pieces originate. There is much to see, so plan on wearing a comfortable pair of shoes and take your time to go through every room inside the museum.
Their vast collections feature various artists such as Georges Seurat's A Sunday on La Grande Jatte, Pablo Picasso's The Old Guitarist, Edward Hopper's Nighthawks, and Grant Wood's American Gothic. Visitors may need to spend more than one day exploring all the exhibits inside the Art Institute, and some favorites are the impressionists' works and the miniature rooms. Guests can purchase their tickets online. Once you arrive, you can park at the Millennium Park underground garage. This is convenient since the stairs from that parking garage lead directly to the south entrance of the Modern Art exhibit wing. If you are visiting the windy city, make sure to spend some time at the Art Institute of Chicago.
