Take a picture next to Chicago's iconic bean.
Located in the heart of Chicago, Illinois, Cloud Gate aka "The Bean" forms a shiny silver archway into Millennium Park. Widely known and visited by both locals and tourists, this sculpture and park itself are a must-see in Chicago. The Bean sculpture was inspired by liquid mercury and is made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together and then highly polished to give it a flawless shine. The shape of this unique structure provides an excellent photo opportunity against the concrete jungle that makes up the windy city.
Locals and visitors alike often have a picnic in the park, relax in the Zen Garden, listen to live music during a music festival, grab a bite at the Plaza at Park Grill, or watch a show at Jay Pritzker Pavilion. The pavilion was created by the notable architect, Frank Gehry, and provides not only a beautiful stainless canopy over the lawn but is also a perfect acoustically sound structure.
