Enjoy a moment of tranquility in the windy city at this botanical garden.
The Chicago Botanic Garden is located off of Interstate 94 in northern Chicago. Enjoy the beautiful flowers in bloom as you walk through this expansive outdoor garden. This place is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts. Common birds you may see include blackbirds, killdeer, great blue herons, orioles, kinglets, dark-eyed juncos, cardinals, blue jays, sparrows, warblers, and more. April and May are the best months to see migrating songbirds, and the morning hours are when the birds are most vocal.
This attraction is open year-round, but hours vary depending on the season. Points of interest include the bonsai collection, English walled garden, green roof garden, Japanese garden, model railroad garden, waterfall garden, and more. If you want to bring a light lunch, they have picnic tables near the Visitor Center and Learning Center. You are also welcome to order from the Garden View Cafe by the Rose Terrace. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you love nature, be sure to visit the Chicago Botanic Garden the next time you're in Illinois.
