Hike to this lovely waterfall on your next trip to Maine.
This stunning waterfall is located in central Maine off of State Route 201. Visitors love that it's relatively easy to get to the falls, but be watchful of exposed roots as you hike along the trail. The well-worn path is only one-mile long round-trip. Houston Brook Falls is about 30 feet high and has a nice swimming hole at the bottom. If you bring your swimming suit, expect the swimming hole to be shallow (around 3 feet deep).
Upon arrival, park on the right side in front of the transfer station gate, but do not block the way for others to park. Please note that this waterfall is on private property, but it is currently open to the public. Be respectful and always carry out what you carry in with you to keep the area clean. The optimal time to visit Houston Brook Falls is from May to October. Bring your camera and discover the natural beauty of Maine's Houston Brook Falls.
