Spend a day at Hopkinton Reservoir in eastern Massachusetts.
Hopkinton State Park is on the east side of Interstate 495 in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The main feature of this park is Hopkinton Reservoir, where visitors can enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and other water activities. Most of the beaches have lifeguards on duty during the summer, but always be watchful of your small children while they swim in the reservoir.
If you're here for a daytime outing, feel free to bring a packed lunch with you. Over 300 picnic spots and over 100 grills are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the park. Please note that leashed dogs are allowed here, but you can't bring them with you to the beaches from May 1 to September 15. Daily parking fees are incurred from May 15 through November 30. If you're looking for a place to cool off in the summer, Hopkinton State Park is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Massachusetts.
