Learn about scientific principles and concepts through interactive exhibits.
The Headwaters Science Center encompasses 7,500 square feet and features 70 hands-on exhibits. This science center is self-guided and encourages participants to get involved. Besides the 70 exhibits, there are also a variety of animals, such as snakes, spiders, rabbits, raptors, iguanas, and more. On top of that, they have a 210-gallon saltwater aquarium, where you can watch the fish swim around for as long as you'd like. The live animal collection teaches about living things and they offer many demonstrations, including snake feedings on Saturdays. Check their website for dates and times, and register for one of their live science demonstrations.
The Headwaters Science Center is open daily, and regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission rates are $6 for children (ages 2-11), $9 for ages 12+, and $8 for seniors (65+) and military members. The Headwaters Science Center is a fun attraction for all ages. Plan to stop by if you're traveling through northern Minnesota.
