Explore the area where the Fremont Native American tribe used to live.
Fremont Indian State Park is located in Sevier, Utah, and features pictographs and petroglyphs left by a large village of Fremont Native American tribe members. Visitors must first drive to the museum on the west side of the park to obtain a parking pass ($10 per vehicle), then feel free to explore the museum, walk around the paved trail to see the pictograph wall, and visit historic sites within the park at your own pace. The museum is somewhat small, and it begins with an introductory video to help you know about the Native Americans that once inhabited the area. After the video, you will be able to enter the museum and see several preserved artifacts such as pottery, woven baskets, beaded shoes, arrowheads, and more.
This southern Utah state park is open throughout the year Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm during the offseason (closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day) and daily from 9 am to 6 pm from Memorial Day through Labor Day. If you want to extend your stay, you can reserve a campsite at either the Castle Rock or Sam Stowe campgrounds.
