Take a trip back in time and learn the stories behind this historic house.
Featuring original furnishings, wallpapers, and painted ceilings, the Hall home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. When you come to visit, there is also a desk that was once used by Andrew Jackson when he studied law in North Carolina. This brilliant building was originally built as a female-only academy in 1820 but became the residence for Dr. Hall and his family in 1859. It stayed in the family for four generations until Hall's great-granddaughter eventually sold it to the Historic Salisbury Foundation in the early 1970s.
It is open year-round, excluding the months of January and February. Be sure to plan ahead if you care to visit because tour times are limited to Saturday or Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm.
