Venture this botanical garden featuring wildflowers, ponds, and gazebos.
Benjamin R. Kittredge created this garden in 1932; it is now known as the Cypress Gardens. Alligators may be present on the property and it is recommended that visitors remain on the official pathways at all times. There is a 3.5-mile loop that passes by rice fields, gazebos, wildflower fields, and ponds. This is the perfect place for a self-guided tour where visitors can reflect and find a quiet moment away from the busy city crowds.
Movies that were filmed in this location include The Notebook and The Patriot. Large events such as weddings are often held here, so be sure to check their website or call ahead to confirm available times. Please note that pets are only allowed on a leash outside during the off-season, November through February. The Cypress Gardens are open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, with the latest admission time being 4 pm. Come and see this impressive garden located about 30 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina.
