The Corning Museum of Glass has been open since 1951 and is situated across from the Chemung River in Corning, New York. It features various glass artwork and allows visitors to make their own glass with the purchase of a "make your own glass" ticket. They have an outdoor pavilion adjacent to the parking lot where you will be guided step by step in making your own glass creation. The first floor of the museum has a cafe and shops. Most of the glass is displayed on the second floor.
This museum is open daily. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, its hours are 9 am to 7 pm and during the off-season, it is open from 9 am to 5 pm. Admission for children ages 17 and under is free. Please note that admission is valid for two consecutive days, so if you can't see everything you want in one day, you can arrive the next day to explore the museum again.
