Take a camping trip to the Finger Lakes region in upstate New York.
Watkins Glen State Park is located on the southern end of Seneca Lake in western New York. It is a gorgeous place to hike and features a large gorge and over a dozen waterfalls. The Watkins Glen Gorge Tour is great for visitors that want to know about the history of the area and how the gorge was formed. This guided tour is one mile long and takes about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the group. Watkins Glen State Park has two reservable pavilions that can hold larger groups, making it a fun place for a family reunion. An Olympic-sized pool is located here and is open during the summer, which is a great spot to cool off on a hot day.
This state park is open year-round from dawn to dusk. In the spring, many people come here for fishing during the annual rainbow trout run. Tent campsites and rustic cabins are available by reservation; however, many people also like to come for a nice day outing. If you love the great outdoors, be sure to visit Watkins Glen State Park.
