Admire the scenic landscape of Chimney Bluffs near Lake Ontario.
Chimney Bluffs State Park is situated on the shores of Lake Ontario in upstate New York. It encompasses nearly 600 acres and features 150-foot towering mud cliffs known as the Chimney Bluffs. This is an excellent day-use park for hiking, fishing, picnicking, and landscape photography. This place has been a state park since the 1960s, but a glacier formed the bluffs over 6,000 years ago.
Chimney Bluffs State Park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Since it is open year-round, feel free to come snowmobiling or snowshoeing in the winter. A $5 vehicle entry fee applies from April through October. Amenities at Chimney Bluffs include nature trails, picnic areas, and restrooms. Guests can bring up to two leashed dogs, but they must remain in the day-use areas. If you're visiting the finger lakes region, don't miss out on Chimney Bluffs State Park.
