Explore this luscious garden area in southeastern Wyoming.
The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens are located in Lions Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming. These gardens began in 1977 with a solar heated greenhouse. The new three-story conservatory opened in August 2017. The Grand Conservatory has 27 specialty landscapes and is also the home to Engine 1242, the oldest locomotive engine in Wyoming. Come and explore 9-acres of award-winning perennial and annual landscapes. There are specialty exhibits and a year-round vegetable garden too. Visitors will see rose, herb, cacti, wetland, cottage, and woodland gardens. There is a Discovery Pond, and an amazing Garden Labyrinth. Visitors will love the Paul Smith Children's Village with many family-friendly activities. The garden features a wetlands area, a sheepherder wagon, a secret garden, a farmers windmill, and an outdoor giant jenga game.
There is so much to see and enjoy with the Bedont Rose Garden, the Reckling Herb Garden, Labyrinth, Sensory Garden and Gazebo, Rotary Plazas, Rock and conifer Garden and a Peace Garden. Don't forget about the Cottage Garden, Perennial Walk, the Crevice Garden, a Habitat Hero Pollinator Garden, and Perennial Walk while you're here. The gift shop is located in the lobby of the Shane Smith Grand Conservatory and sells many exciting and unique gift items such as puppets, local soaps and candles, books, and plants that are grown at the gardens.
