Visit one of the most stunning places in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Cades Cove is located about nine miles away from Townsend, Tennessee, in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is one of the most popular places to visit on the Tennessee side of the park, and it is also one of the best spots for wildlife observation. Many people have seen deer, black bears, wild turkeys, raccoons, skunks, and other creatures at Cades Cove. Give yourself at least a couple of hours to soak in all the sights around this 11-mile loop if you plan to drive here. Be aware that vehicle-free access to the Cades Cove Loop Road happens every Wednesday from early May through the end of September.
Along with the natural beauty you can enjoy, Cades Cove also features a wide variety of historical buildings within the park. There is also a campground in Cades Cove if you want to extend your stay. The Cades Cove campground has 159 campsites that can accommodate tents and RVs up to 35 feet long.
