Stunning red rock arches, spires, and balancing rocks abound under Utah's clear skies.
Visit Arches to discover a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms, and textures unlike any in the world. Arches National Park lies just north of Moab, Utah. It is bordered by the Colorado River in the southeast and features over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, such as the massive, red-hued Delicate Arch in the east. A long, thin Landscape Arch stands in Devils Garden to the north. Another notable geological formation includes Balanced Rock, towering over the desert landscape in the middle of the park.
This red-rock wonderland is something that everyone should come and see for themselves. You can visit Arches National Park year-round. To avoid the large crowds, consider visiting sometime before 8 am or after 3 pm. Always bring plenty of water with you and wear sunscreen. It is especially hot here in July and August, with temperatures often reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The busy season at this park is March through October, but the winter offers cool temperatures and quiet campgrounds. Arches National Park offers plenty of outdoor recreation, including canyoneering, river rafting, backpacking, rock climbing, and horseback riding. Enjoy a trip to one of Utah's popular national parks.
