Visit Alabama's hidden gem in the Gulf Shores.
The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is home to 300 animals, including 22 endangered species. They have a reptile house, petting zoo, and several different exhibits with exotic wildlife. Animals you can see at the zoo include alligators, goats, Bengal tigers, tortoises, lions, camels, toucans, monkeys, iguanas, and more. If you want to experience an animal encounter, they offer tickets to interact with the kangaroos, lemurs, or sloths.
This zoo is open daily from 9 am to 4 pm except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. No outside food or drinks are allowed in the zoo, but they do have the Safari Club Restaurant open for lunch and dinner if you get hungry. The zoo is a perfect family-friendly attraction and should be added to your itinerary if you're traveling along Alabama's Gulf Coast. It is situated on 20 acres, making it easy to spend a full day here. Best of all, the zoo is just 6-miles away from the beach.
