Explore the gardens and enjoy a relaxing day at this Florida state park.
The Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is located off I-95 near the Matazanas River in northeastern Florida. It features a boulder-strewn beach full of coquina rock and 20 acres of beautifully sculpted gardens, including ten varieties of roses, such as Dream Come True (Floribuna), Gold Medal (Grandiflora), and Don Juan (Modern Climber). As you explore the state park, you can also stop at the reflection ponds, gazebo, and greenhouse.
This park is open year-round from 8 AM to sunset. If you're interested in hosting a large family gathering here, call and ask about reserving their covered pavilion. Guests can reserve the pavilion up to ten months in advance, and it has ten picnic tables and three charcoal grills. Please note pavilion use can start at 8 AM up until an hour before sunset. Park entrance fees are $5 per vehicle (with up to eight people in the car). If you're looking for a beautiful park in northern Florida, consider visiting Washington Oaks Gardens State Park.
