Take a hike to Tumalo Falls and explore the natural beauty of Bend, Oregon.
Tumalo Falls is about 90 feet tall and is a gorgeous place to visit, especially during fall when the leaves change color. There are 4 different trails you can get to from the main parking lot, North Fork trail, Bridge Creek trail, Tumalo Creek trail, and Farewell trail. The North Fork trail is uphill only if you are riding mountain bikes. Otherwise, hiking is available for everyone on all four trails during most of the year. If you’re visiting Bend, Oregon this is one of those must-see places that are worth the drive.
If you walk a half-mile up from the parking lot, it leads you straight to the upper viewpoint of Tumalo falls and is a perfect place to take pictures. An unmarked trail off to the side can lead you to the base of the falls and all the way up behind the falls too if you’re feeling adventurous. There are tons of smaller waterfalls and pools plus miles of forest to explore here. In order to park at this trailhead, they require a recreation pass such as a $5 day pass or a Northwest Forest ePass. Come and enjoy a refreshing day in the Deschutes National Forest and take in the breathtaking iconic Tumalo waterfall during your visit.
