Explore a secret track of old trolley cars, left in an overgrown forest.
In a seemingly deserted section of forest near Pennsylvania lies a trolley, still on the original track dating back to the 1940s. Ed Metka, a former engineer in the Army Corp, remembered these trolleys running in his former hometown and desired to document this nostalgic form of transportation. To add to his project, he bought multiple trolley cars and transported them to the location, then allowed nature to grow around, through, and over the vehicles. These trains are all out of commission, of course.
Though the cars appear abandoned, the art is constantly protected by a security guard to discourage vandalism. To get to this location, visitors must park at a nearby schoolyard and hike to the attraction. It is also private property and requires permission from the owner to enter the locked gates.
