Take a look into Colonial America in a replica town featuring live demonstrations.
The Frontier Culture Museum shares the story of those who came to America during colonial times. Located in Staunton, Virginia, the mission of this museum is to educate visitors about the impact indigenous, European, and African people made on the development of American folk culture. Their farming and craftsmanship skills played a significant role in the foundation of the American colonies. The museum has been around since the 1980s and features a vast array of permanent and temporary exhibits. There are interactive and living history demonstrations throughout the museum, as well as outdoor exhibits separated into two sections, Old World and America.
The Frontier Culture Museum is open daily and its hours of operation vary by season. You can visit anytime between 9 AM and 5 PM from mid-March to December. Off-season hours are daily from 10 AM to 4 PM. Come and take a self-guided tour. Free shuttles are available on the property, and admission rates are $12 for adults, $11 for students (13-college age), $9 for seniors, $7 for children (6-12), and children ages 0-5 are free.
