Enjoy panoramic views of San Antonio at this iconic tower.
Located in downtown San Antonio, the 750-foot tall Tower of the Americas has the city's most spectacular views. This tower was built in 1968 for the World's Fair in celebration of the town's 250th anniversary. It was the tallest observation tower in the U.S. until the Stratosphere was built in Vegas in the 1990s, but the Tower of the Americas remains the tallest tower in Texas. There are 952 steps to reach the top of this impressive tower. If you don't want to climb the stairs, you can take one of the three elevators. These elevators reach the top in less than a minute.
The Tower of the Americas is open daily from 12 pm to 10 pm. Visitors can eat at the revolving restaurant, take in the scenery from the Observation Deck, or experience the thrilling 4D Theater Ride while they are here. This place is ideal for sightseeing and dining and is situated near the San Antonio Riverwalk.
