This is an attraction fit for all Star Trek fans.
This museum is dedicated to the future birthplace of Captain Kirk from the Star Trek series. Captain Kirk's birth is said to occur on March 22, 2228. Steve Miller was a long-time follower and noticed the Star Trek original book series mentioned a small Iowa town would be the designated location. Miller took it upon himself to choose Riverside to be the specific spot. He chose the monument's location to be placed behind an old barbershop, with a bench overlooking the “sacred” spot. Miller’s dedication inspired the inclusion of Riverside, Iowa, to be the true birthplace of Captain Kirk, featured in the 2009 Star Trek series.
The Voyage Home Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 4 pm. It is closed on holidays so please plan accordingly.
