The Big Treehouse is a 5,000+ square-foot treehouse located in Marshalltown, Iowa, at the Shady Oaks Campground. It has become a tourist attraction that has evolved and improved over the years. The treehouse is family-owned, features 12 levels, and encompasses a large maple tree. Walk up the spiral staircase and ring the bell once you reach the top of this handcrafted masterpiece. Visitors will also notice that there is a microwave, fridge, and grill at this hobby treehouse.
Enjoy a guided tour of this unique place. It comes fully equipped with electricity, a phone line, running water, and porch swings. The Big Treehouse is run by Mary Gift and she loves showing it off to people. Soak in the view from this unique treehouse the next time you're driving through Iowa.
