Lake Superior and the Split Rock Lighthouse are just a few of the scenes at the Tettegouche State Park.
A quiet and lesser-known park overlooking Lake Superior can be found an hour outside the town of Duluth. Waterfalls, including Cascade Falls, jagged cliffs, and plenty of plant and animal life can be seen along the many trails, which amount to a total of 310 miles. There are many campsites (and rentable cabins) nearby safe, but adventurous, kayaking areas. A rocky beach can be found along Baptism River, which also leads to Lake Superior. In addition to hiking and camping, many rock climbers and cross-country skiers are drawn to the park as it is open year-round. Split Rock Lighthouse can also be seen from part of the trail.
