Discover majestic views of the Mississippi River at one of Iowa's top state parks.
Pikes Peak State Park is located in northeastern Iowa and has many natural features waiting to be photographed. With over 10-miles of trails, outdoor enthusiasts can easily spend an entire day exploring the park. An impeccable sight is where the Mississippi and Wisconsin rivers meet, which can be seen atop the Pikes Peak Scenic Overlook. Most of the trails are less than a mile long, but mountain bikers can enjoy a ride on the Point Ann Trail, which is over 2.5-miles long.
This is the perfect place for a camping trip. Almost 50 of the sites have electricity hookups for RVs, and showers and restrooms are available throughout the campground. Beginning at the parking lot at the southernmost part of the park is ideal for anyone visiting during the day. It has restrooms, a picnic area, and many of the smaller, more scenic trails within the park. One of the most popular trails is Bridal Veil, which leads to a waterfall and features several overlooks where visitors can enjoy views of the Mississippi River. Bring your friends and family to see Pikes Peak State Park, one of the top scenic places to visit in Iowa.
