Star Diner

A quaint down to Earth diner that cooks everything to order and makes you feel very welcomed like you are family.

This diner is a great one to visit if you’re in the Rochester area. The Star Diner is just over 53 miles East of the Rochester New York airport and has a surprising number of menu items. You can choose from specialty sandwiches like the gyro, philly, or mozzarella chicken. There’s even an open face prime rib sandwich that they serve. These menu items are served with one side. Choose from either french fries, home fries, mashed potatoes, hash browns, baked potato, soup, coleslaw, cottage cheese, apple sauce, corn, peas, broccoli, or green beans. Their appetizers include fried calamari, mozzarella sticks, chicken quesadillas, chicken fingers, pizza logs, chili, or potato skins. If you’re in the mood for a spicy salad, try their Santa Fe salad. It features cajun chicken and Mexican ranch along with all the trimmings. Lighter fare menu items include wraps and club sandwiches. Wraps are served with one side and the club sandwiches are served with chips and coleslaw. 

The Star Diner entree menu comes with 2 sides. Entree items include meatloaf, lemon pepper chicken, pork chops, and New York strip steak. Not surprisingly, they also have a lot of seafood items such as batter-dipped scallops, batter-dipped shrimp, or a seafood platter with haddock, shrimp, scallops, and clam strips. They also have Italian dishes like seafood alfredo, chicken parmesan, and Italian sausage baked ziti. Don’t leave without trying their deep fried ice cream, it is so addicting and tastes amazing! They also have strawberry shortcake and several assorted pies to choose from for dessert.

This is a family-friendly restaurant and the locals who eat there regularly are very warm and welcoming. We love the staff members too, they are helpful and treat each guest with respect and care. This diner is a memorable one for sure, plus their food is flavorful and fresh and the atmosphere of the restaurant makes you feel at home.
