The Southern Museum of Flight is located across from the Birmingham International Airport. Additionally, the museum has an aviation hall of fame that displays over 70 plaques that have a biographical history of pilots.
At its current location, the Southern Museum of Flight opened to the public in 1983. It began in the mid-1960s with a handful of planes but has since become one of the biggest aviation museums in the southeastern United States. Admission is less than $10 per person, and it is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. Group rates are available upon request.
