Aldridge Gardens is located near the intersection of Interstate 459 and 65 in Hoover, Alabama, south of Birmingham. All of the walking trails are wheelchair and stroller-friendly. The Alabama meadow and 5-acre lake provide opportunities for watching birds and other wildlife. There have been over 80 bird species spotted at Aldridge Gardens, so any time of the year is sure to have lots of colorful feathered friends. If you need a break inside, there is also a small art and historical collections building near the gift shop that features unique exhibits.
The garden is open daily (except during major holidays and scheduled events) from 8 am to 7 pm. Points of interest include the arbor garden, bonsai collection, shade garden, hydrangea garden, pergola, boathouse and floating dock, Japanese maple collection, azalea garden, and herb garden.
