The Huntsville Botanical Garden is just east of the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. It covers over 100 acres and has several nature trails to explore, including the Lewis Birding Trail. Birds you may see include goldfinches, green herons, red-tailed hawks, northern cardinals, red-bellied woodpeckers, and more. Other points of interest include the butterfly house, garden railway display, aquatic garden, tweetsville bird watching station, and children's garden.
Regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. During the holidays, be sure to come and see the Galaxy of Lights display. USA Today recently ranked the Galaxy of Lights among the Top 10 Reader's Choice Awards. This spectacular holiday tradition has both walking (during November) and driving experiences for guests to see the lights from 5:15 pm to 8:30 pm, with the grounds closing at 10 pm.
