The Johnny Cash Museum & Cafe

Visit this museum that tells a story about a soft-spoken, kind man named Johnny Cash.

Johnny Cash was a very talented man. He was a songwriter, singer, actor, and artist. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, this museum is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm. The tour is self-guided, so visitors can take as much time here as they need or want. It has the largest collection of Johnny Cash memorabilia and artifacts assembled in one place in the entire world. The compilation starts with items and photos from Johnny's youth and up through his life. The museum has custom boots and amazing suits of Johnny's, plus a hallway with one side wallpapered with his vinyl singles and the other side with his vinyl albums.

There are displays about his movies, TV shows, and even handwritten music lyrics from some of his famous music that is represented. A few of his guitars are displayed, as well as some of his personal effects. There are two separate areas where visitors can watch some of his movies, TV shows, or musical performances. There is a green screen in another area that you can stand in front of and have a picture taken "next to" Johnny Cash. He and his second wife June had a home in Tennessee that sadly burned down, but they have a spot in the museum with photos of the home and some furniture from it, including the family piano. June passed away in 2003, and Johnny passed away only 4 months later. They had an amazing love story.

The gift shop is fun with a hotrod motorcycle in the window and sells Johnny Cash CDs, t-shirts, mugs, and more. The Bongo Java Coffee Shop is a museum cafe where guests can buy refreshments and coffee. Admission prices start at about $16 to $20 per person. Recently, the museum received the AAA GEM rating, which is the highest rating available on a tourist attraction. That makes this museum one of six others to have the distinction in Nashville, Tennessee.
