Come explore one of the best waterfalls in Indiana.
If you are heading South from Indianapolis, Indiana, this is a great spot for sightseeing. Cagles Mill Lake is a nice spot to go swimming or boating and you will find a waterfall just a few miles away from here. Cataract Falls is the largest waterfall in Indiana due to the sheer volume of water that flows down it from Mill Creek. You will find upper and lower falls, the upper falls are the tallest of the two which measures to be about 30 feet high. If you go downstream from the upper falls for about half a mile, you will reach the lower falls which are still pretty high measuring close to 18 feet tall. You can take a nice hiking trail to reach both of the falls and explore the natural beauty of the area.
There are great spots to sit and enjoy a picnic lunch at this State Park so be sure to visit when the weather is warm. The Cataract Falls offer a nice backdrop for pictures and will give you plenty of time to stretch your legs and do some exploring. You can also play frisbee or badminton in the spacious fields at the park while you’re at it.
