With 3,000 acres to explore, a historic Shaker Village, and a beautiful inn to relax and restore at, the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is a landmark destination.
When you visit Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill you will want to see and do everything in the area. The Historic Centre has 34 of the 260 original buildings that the Pleasant Hill Shakers constructed over 105 years. They are located along a mile-long gravel road. The Farm has a garden (where some of the fresh produce is grown for the restaurant known as The Trustees' Table) and The Preserve has miles of hand-laid rock walls, limestone, water sources, and rich soil. No wonder the Shakers that lived at this location for over 100 years were happy to make this area their home. The Inn has 72 guest rooms, suites, and cottages that are all within 13 restored Shaker buildings. The Inn is filled with reproduced Shaker furniture, and it has original hardwood floors. For wonderful food, go to The Trustees Table and enjoy dishes made with seasonal ingredients from the farm, which is on the property and harvested by local farmers. This is a great location for a family vacation, a weekend away, a business meeting, a wedding, or a birthday. There are weekend programs, hayrides, and miles to explore. Go to the website and take a look at the Village Map to see the layout, and also check out the event calendar and the weekend programs that are available here.
