What used to be a horse farm is now a spacious State Park for families, friends, and pets.
Coldstream Park is a beautiful area to spend a few hours or the entire day relaxing, jogging, walking, biking, or a dozen other activities. If you need a place to have some fun in the sun, this park has large grassy areas and several trails to explore. The Legacy Trail (12 - miles long) runs through Coldstream Park and connects downtown Lexington to the Kentucky Horse Park. There are 225 acres of land here, so there is room for everyone. The park is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
Benches are scattered about, and the restrooms and water fountains are new additions, plus there are picnic tables and shade. Another great feature is the huge, 10-acre fenced dog park. It is fully fenced and separated into two sides. One side is designated for small dogs, and the other side is ideal for large dogs. There is a water fountain for the dogs to have some fun too. The Lexington Parks & Recreation schedules a variety of events and races at the park. Before or after your stop at Coldstream Park, check out the nearby hotels, restaurants, golf club, spa, and shopping centers.
