McConnell Springs is a beautiful 26-acre nature sanctuary that has lots of parking available for visitors. Visit the Education Center to learn about the local plant life and see the exhibits. The nature center is open Monday - Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday from 1 pm - 5 pm. Within the nature sanctuary, you can take the 1/2 mile paved loop trail that is accessible to all.
Other trails are available too and have either dirt or wood chips, so bring good walking shoes with you. The amphitheater and the pond often have frogs, turtles, ducks, and geese. Look for the log cabin and lean-to while you're exploring McConnell Springs. Their natural play area is perfect for kids to get their energy out, and there is a Bur Oak Tree that is over 250 years old. Visitors may also enjoy the shaded picnic areas as they walk around this scenic place.
