Come visit "The Castle" for excellent food and amazing accommodations.
This castle was developed initially for Rex Martin and his wife Caroline in 1969. The inspiration for this project came after they viewed architecture on a trip to Europe. The original plans had 7 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a driveway, fountain, and a tennis court. Sadly, the couple divorced with the castle unfinished in 1975 and it was put up for sale in 1988. Rex Martin died in 2003 before the castle actually sold.
A lawyer named Thomas Post bought the building in 2004 and renovations began. It was officially completed in the fall of 2008 and featured a library, game room, music room, dining hall, ballroom, swimming pool, formal garden, basketball court, and bar. In 2010 the castle was up for sale again and eventually was sold in 2017. The Kentucky Castle is presently a destination inn and spa for tourists, weddings, and corporate functions. They often host special events like murder mystery dinner. If you're in the area, stop by to enjoy a fabulous dinner and a stroll around the gardens. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated for guests who choose to stay here a little longer.
