Located in Tucson, Mission San Xavier del Bac was founded in 1692, built in the late 1700s, and is still an active Catholic church today on the Tohono O’odham Nation San Xavier Indian Reservation. Often regarded as the “White Dove of the Desert,” this mission showcases incredible Spanish colonial architecture with beautifully detailed carvings outside and an even more ornate interior. This also happens to be the oldest European structure in the entire state.
