Explore this museum full of Southwestern artifacts.
The Arizona State Museum was established in 1893 and is the oldest and largest anthropological research museum in the U.S. Southwest. This place helps guests learn about the ancient and enduring Native cultures of the region through its exhibits, guided tours, and various educational programs. They also offer travel tours and master classes and have a research library and archives. All of the large collections are available for visitors to study and gain an appreciation of the region's 13,000-year human history.
Native peoples have lived on the North American continent for more than 10 millennia. The museum staff investigate archaeological sites of North America to learn how people lived and ate, what they wore, and their art. Admission rates are $8 for adults, and free for anyone ages 17 and under. The museum has a great gift shop full of arts and crafts, rugs, jewelry, books, and reference materials. The Arizona State Museum is found on the university campus, feel free to take advantage of the university's facilities, do some exploring, and enjoy your time at the museum.
