The Sage Center is one of eight Oregon Visitor Welcome Centers in the state. This location is in Boardman, Oregon, and offers hands-on and interactive exhibits for all ages. Exhibits focus on topics such as agriculture, industries, energy productions, sustainable practices, transportation, infrastructure, and more. The Big Picture has a simulated hot air balloon ride, a Procession Kinetic Sculpture, and activities that educate about how food gets from the farm to the table. Agriculture Today exhibits allow the public to experiment with GPS technology, and Port of Morrow teaches about the export of goods. Guests can take tours for a small fee, and each tour is approximately an hour long. In addition to tours, this visitor center has a gift shop and sells ice cream, beef jerky, and other goodies. The gift shop has a wide assortment of merchandise, homemade art, jewelry, and crafts from local vendors.
Hours of operation from Labor Day to Memorial Day are Monday through Saturday 10 am to 5 pm. Summer hours are from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Sunday through Thursday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm. The parking lot can accommodate buses and RVs. If you are passing through northeastern Oregon, come and stretch your legs at this visitor center. It also has a kid's play area, dog walking areas, eating areas, and clean restrooms.
