See the official Washington state waterfall.
Palouse Falls State Park is located in southeastern Washington, and it encompasses 94-acres. Palouse Falls resulted from Ice Age floods that occurred over 13,000 years ago, and it was formally named Washington’s state waterfall in 2014. This 200-foot waterfall eventually flows into the Snake River in Idaho. Three different vantage points around the falls provide awesome areas to take pictures. The highest point is the Fryxell Overlook, where people see sweeping views of this magnificent waterfall.
Guests are welcome to stay at the campsites, use picnic facilities, and wildlife observation platforms on a first-come, first-served basis. There is an abundance of wildlife you may see, including marmots, deer, bobcats, and hawks. The trail leading around the waterfall is a 1.4-mile loop, so expect to stay for at least a couple of hours to get the most out of your visit.
