The Portland Museum of Art was founded in 1882, making it the oldest public art institution in Maine. This place is located in downtown Portland at the intersection of High, Congress, and Free streets, making it easily accessible. Outside, guests can admire the creative sculpture garden. Once inside, you will see displays full of classic, contemporary, and modern art. They have a great collection, including pieces from Picasso, Renoir, Monet, Wyeth, and Kent.
