Camp at this incredible national forest in western North Carolina.
The Pisgah National Forest is located in northwestern North Carolina, about two hours east of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It encompasses over half a million acres full of trees, luscious peaks, and picturesque waterfalls. Popular outdoor activities at this national forest include mountain biking, hiking, camping, offroading, picnicking, and taking scenic drives.
Most of the campsites are open from April to November, and they offer various amenities for campers. RVers can stay at the Black Mountain, Curtis Creek, or Boone Fork campgrounds. Dispersed camping is available in Harmon Den, Linville Gorge, Wilson Creek, and Shining Rock. If you're visiting the eastern United States, consider camping at the Pisgah National Forest. There are myriad sites to see here, including the arboretum, the cradle of forestry, Mount Mitchell, several waterfalls, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Any outdoor enthusiast visiting Tennessee or North Carolina should add the Pisgah National Forest to their travel itinerary.
