Learn about the Lewis and Clark expedition and what they saw here.
The Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Center helps visitors learn about the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers. It is located half a mile east of Fort Buford near Williston, North Dakota. Exhibitions include a large gallery featuring the Lewis and Clark expedition, Sitting Bull (the most photographed Native American of the 19th-century), the impacts of the fur trade era, and information about prehistoric life in this region. The gallery has over 200 artifacts such as a frontier army transport wagon, a 1904 model A Cadillac, and more. Outside the center, you can capture the incredible views of the convergence of these two mighty rivers.
This interpretive center is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm during the regular tourist season (end of May to early September). During the off-season, hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm, and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. Tickets are $5 per adult and $2.50 per child. If you're exploring the great plains region, be sure to add the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Center to your itinerary.
