This national monument displays four of America’s most influential presidents the country has seen.
Mount Rushmore is a well-known landmark that is located in South Dakota that depicts four of the United States’ presidents. The park that holds this landmark is registered as a United States National Park, and the sculpture brings nearly 2 million visitors to the park each year. The sculpture was completed in 1941, and it displays the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodor Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The entire park covers over 1,000 acres, so there is more exploring available to guests than just seeing the main attraction of the monument.
It is stated that these four presidents were chosen to symbolize America’s birth, growth, development, and preservation. You can find Blackberry Trail within the park grounds, which is an intermediate-level hike, and it connects to the Centennial Trail in the Black Elk Wilderness. You will have the chance to get away from some of the grounds and unwind in this wonderful forest. You might get lucky and come across some elk, chipmunks, marmots, and sheep in the wilderness here. If you find yourself in the South Dakota region, Mount Rushmore is definitely worth making a stop for.
